Resident's of Clinton will shortly be able to start having some fun in the sun! The city of Clinton announced that Riverview Pool just below the dike in Clinton will finally open for the season this Monday.

Summer officially starts this Saturday, but the people Clinton and surrounding Gateway and Quad City residents will be able to cool off starting on Monday. The city of Clinton's Park and Recreation Department announced on social media on Wednesday that Riverview Pool will officially open to the public for the Summer 2020 season on Monday.

In their social media announcement, the city said that "big changes" are being made to ensure proper social distancing and safety. These are the new rules and swim times for Clinton's Riverview Pool:

  • Family Swimming
    • Monday - Friday, 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.
    • Saturday - Sunday, 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Lap Swimming (Daily)
    • Short Course, 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
    • Long Course, 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

During family swimming times, children 15 and under must be with a person that is 16 years or older. Children under the age of 6 must be within arms length of the accompanying person over 16 years old. Social distancing will be enforced and families should keep at least six feet apart.

Staff at Riverview Pool will require everyone to shower before entering the pool. Staff asks swimmers to not come to swim if they have been sick, have had a fever, and/or diarrhea in the two weeks prior to wanting to come to Clinton's Riverview Pool.

Admission for Riverview Pool is also very affordable. Below are the daily prices:

  • Groups 10+: $3 per person
  • Adults 18-54: $5
  • Youth 5-17: $4
  • Seniors 55+: $4
  • 4 & Under: $1

I can tell you, I drove on the dike in Clinton last weekend and saw that the pool is full and I'm excited to see things reopening in and around the Quad Cities! If you've never been to Clinton's Riverview Pool, I do highly recommend. You'll have a lot of fun.
