Just when you think all of the Caucus ruckus was over, Iowa was all "LOL JK!"

Last night Iowans from across the state ventured out to participate in the political process by caucusing for their favorite presidential candidate. Ted Cruz came out on top for the Republican Party, while the Democratic wasn't so cut-and-dry.

It was so close between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, that, in fact, they tossed a coin to determine the winner. I swear, I'm not kidding.

At least five precincts across Iowa (Ames, Davenport, West Branch, Newton & Des Moines) had to utilize the coin toss because of a tie in Democratic caucus votes.

An article by FiveThirtyEight points out that the coin toss only for county delegates, not statewide delegates.

Clinton was marginally ahead of Sanders as of Tuesday morning and was declared the victor at 3:33am CT by USA Today.

It really is as simple as it sounds. Looks like those childhood debates settled by a quarter were actually a teaching-tool after all!
