Davenport Announces New Emergency Alert System
If you're a Davenport resident, there is a new way for you to get important alerts that will impact your commute, safety, and let you know when you can let your voice be heard. The City of Davenport announced that they are transitioning to a new alert system that is also statewide.

The City of Davenport has announced the transition of its alert notification system to the new Alert Iowa notification system. Individuals previously subscribed to alerts and notifications through the previous alert system will need to create an account in the new Alert Iowa system, at www.davenportiowa.com/alertiowa in order to continue receiving alerts and notifications.
Alert Iowa is a statewide emergency alert system. Individuals can sign-up for alerts and notifications with other agencies, such as the National Weather Service, Scott County Emergency Management, and other communities in Scott County.
Alert Iowa provides news and notices straight to the individuals' devices. This is one of the most reliable ways to stay informed of the items one is most interested in. Text, e-mail, and phone notifications and alerts include:
- Weather Warnings and Advisories
- Emergencies
- Snow Emergencies
- Street Closures and Lane Reductions
- Flood Updates
- Park Programs
- Ward Meetings
Individuals aged 60 and older who may need help registering for Alert Iowa can contact Milestones Area Agency on Aging for assistance at 1-855-410-6222.
All residents will need to create an account at www.davenportiowa.com/alertiowa in order to receive news and notifications straight to their device. The City will discontinue the use of the previous system on October 14, 2021.
