Davenport Hosting Movies On The Mississippi
The City of Davenport wants you to enjoy some family friend films under the stars in downtown Davenport at LeClaire Park. Davenport is hosting three Movies on the Mississippi events and the first one is coming up on Friday, August 6.
Who doesn't love watching films outdoors? We do it at drive-ins, sometimes people make their own setup at home, and others wait for others to put on outdoor movie events to go and check them out. The City of Davenport is starting up its Movies on the Mississippi series and the first one is coming up soon.
The City of Davenport posted on social media that the Riverfront Improvement Commission, along with the Regional Development Authority will have their first of three Movies on the Mississippi event on Friday, August 6th. All three movie events will be held at LeClaire Park with the movie projected on a 25-foot widescreen with the Mississippi River as the backdrop.
Officials say that families are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs and arrive early to pick a spot. Convenient parking is located adjacent to LeClaire Park.
You also won't need to bring snacks if you don't want to. Prior to the movie starting after dusk at each event, there will be food vendors on hand to purchase food at. Child-friendly games and activities will be offered for families to enjoy until the movie begins, too.
