As the weather has gotten warmer, more people are outside doing more things. Things like getting exercise outdoors, enjoying parks, and now shooting off fireworks. While the purchase of fireworks in Iowa is legal, it could be against the law in your local town depending on the ordinance, if there is one. Davenport has a fireworks ordinance and the time to shoot off fireworks legally in Davenport isn't for a month.

If I could kept track of how many times I've heard fireworks go off near the B100 Studios in the middle of the day throughout the year, you would be surprised. Or maybe you wouldn't. Because shooting off fireworks in the summer time is a super popular activity, the Davenport Police Department took to social media to remind residents about the local laws in Davenport when it comes to fireworks.

In the social media post on Thursday, officials from the Davenport Police Department reminded people that per Davenport City ordinance, consumer fireworks may only be used July 3rd and 4th during the hours from 2:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Fireworks in the Davenport can only be shot off on private property.

If caught shooting off fireworks not on the permitted days the first time, it could land you a $250 fine and court costs which could total around $400. Second time offenders will see a fine of $400 plus court costs, and third and subsequent offenders will get a fine of $625 plus court costs.

If you want to report illegal usage of fireworks, officials say call 9-1-1 with a description of the offender and address.

The Davenport police said in the post,

"Let's all #beagoodneighbor and refrain from discharging fireworks outside the legal timeframes."

Million Dollar Quad Cities Home vs Million Dollar Los Angeles Home

We all know the joke about how much houses cost in LA. I decided that it would be fun to look at a million dollar home in LA and compare that to a million dollar home right here in the Quad Cities.
Here are the two spot we are comparing:
12513 Walsh Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90066
Cost: $1,195,000
984 sqft | 3 Bed | 2 Bath

VS

901 46th Street Dr, Moline, IL 61265
Cost: $995,000
15,291 sqft | 6 Bed | 11 Bath

Clearly one is a bit bigger than the other.
