Deere & Co. to Layoff 57 More Employees Come January
More jobs are being cut from John Deere Davenport Works come January.
According to a notification filed with the State of Iowa on December 2nd, Deere & Co. is laying off 57 workers from the facility located at 1175 E. 90th St. in Davenport. The layoff to occur on January 6th.
The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act does require employers to file advance notice of layoffs within at least 60 days. This round of layoffs comes weeks after at least 100 were laid off at the same Deere facility. The layoff announcement came in early October.
According to the Quad-City Times, this new round of layoffs comes at a time when Deere is operating a voluntary employee buyout program.
