Eastern Iowa Fire Department Provides Free “File Of Life” To Residents
This might be a particularly good idea for senior citizens.
A new way to help the community has been rolled out in the QC and since it's free, it's not a bad idea to look into it.
Davenport Fire Department has announced it's new "File Of Life" program. It's designed to help residents for free, should there be an emergency in the house and the resident is unresponsive.
A "File Of Life" is a little red pouch that's magnetized so you can stick it to the fridge. In it is all the info first responders would need, like your medications, medical history, allergies, and who to contact. And as you can see on the pouch, it's important to keep the information in it up to date in case first responders need it.
The File Of Life is available to all Davenport residents at no cost. You don't have to be at risk for anything, if it gives you peace of mind to have one on your fridge, go for it.
If you have a senior citizen in your family especially, this really isn't a bad idea to put in their house and easily visible on their fridge. In fact, they recommend the File of Life for seniors, as well as people with special needs or those that are at risk for a medical emergency.
If you want to get a File Of Life, you can do so on the city's website. You can also reach out to the Fire Prevention Bureau at 563-326-7906.
