Eldridge’s First Hy-Vee Is Opening Very Soon
Eldridge residents are about to enjoy their very first Hy-Vee store.
As we first told you back in February, North Scott Foods, which has been a staple in Eldridge since 1979, was acquired by Hy-Vee. At the time of the announcement, there wasn't much said about it past the acquisition. There wasn't a set timeline for the new store, a date on when it would reopen as Hy-Vee, or any further details.
Now, there's a grand opening date set and it's extremely soon.
North Scott Foods (which is at 425 East LeClaire Road) is a family-owned grocery store that has been in the Eldridge community for over 40 years. Now it's gearing up to reopen to the public as a Hy-Vee.
The Grand Opening
Eldridge's now-Hy-Vee will open to the public at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18th. According to a release from Hy-Vee, the store will be open from 7:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. daily and will have a huge variety for shoppers to choose from. Hy-Vee said this about the new Eldridge store:
The more than 21,000-square-foot store will offer a full selection of grocery items, a bakery section, a wine and spirits department, Chophouse meats, Mealtime offerings, Aisles Online grocery services, health and cosmetics department, 1,000 specialty items and 500 produce items. The store will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and will carry approximately 15,000 items.
Eldridge's new Hy-Vee joins the many in the QCA, which you can see on the map below.
It might be a bittersweet transition for some Eldridge residents but Hy-Vee is ready to take care of it's customers just like North Scott Foods did.
