Some fun weather buzzwords are floating around now.

I think we can all agree that we did not have a good January when it comes to weather. It felt like we were under 2 feet of snow the whole month, the roads sucked, and there were snowbanks lurking around for weeks. Not to mention the pothole-covered roads we've had to deal with.

Then, the groundhog said it'll be an early Spring and it's certainly felt like it, so all is good, right?

Nope. Not yet.

Farmers' Almanac Forecast For Spring 2024

Farmers' Almanac has a good history of being a pretty accurate extended forecast for the Midwest so when they call something a "polar coaster" for us, I'm inclined to listen.

Technically, the Spring Equinox is March 19th but our weather for the season doesn't look that nice, even though it's been a lovely February.

They're calling for "cool, unsettled" weather for us this spring and all kinds of gross- from snow to thunderstorms, specifically saying:

Heavy Midwest storm sweeps east-northeast, produces snow to north, heavy showers, thunderstorms to south.

For us, they're calling for a pretty cloudy start to spring. We could even see snow in April.

The term "polar coaster" refers to the overall cooler spring that the U.S. is forecasted to be in for.

After the mess we had in January, I'm pretty done with the snow for this year so hopefully it'll just be cold rain or thunderstorms (like a normal spring) instead of icy roads.
