How To Save Money On Your Yard Waste In Two Eastern Iowa Cities
There is nothing better than saving money, especially when it means keeping your yard looking beautiful and leaf-free.
The two big cities on the Iowa side of the Mississippi River are beginning their No Yard Waste Stickers Weeks. That means when you rake up those leaves, bag your grass, or pull those plants out of the garden in preparation for the winter, you won't need to spend your hard-earned money on those stickers you put on the bags.
That's right, you can just put those filled bags on your curb during your normal trash day and they'll be whisked away like magic while keeping your money in your pocket. But when does this magical time begin and end?
Every fall and spring, the cities of Davenport and Bettendorf have 'No Sticker Yard Waste Weeks'. This is a chance for you to get rid of lawn clippings, leaves, and other yard waste without purchasing a Yard Waste Sticker.
In an announcement on social media, the Davenport Public Works announced that curbside yard waste collection resumes and fall No Sticker Yard Waste Weeks are here.
Officials say that yard waste curbside collection will resume on Monday, December 6. Residents in Davenport and Bettendorf can place yard waste in a kraft-ply bag for collection on the resident's regular collection day. When it's not during the 'No Sticker Yard Waste Weeks,' a sticker must be placed on each bag to be collected. If the resident has the service, waste may also be placed in the resident's yard waste cart.
No Sticker Yard Waste Weeks for Davenport and Bettendorf will take place from Monday, October 28 through Friday, December 6, 2024. During that time, residents may place their yard waste in those kraft-ply bags for collection on their regular collection day without a sticker. Officials say that during the same time if you have the service, yard waste may also be placed in a yard waste cart without a fee.
