Here's your excuse to buy that pet Halloween costume.

If you're lucky enough to have a pup that lets you put them in Halloween costumes, now is the time to show them off! If they have no chill when it comes to costumes, get them out in the park anyway.

Howl-o-Ween Tails and Treats put on by the Humane Society of Scott County is coming up just in time for spooky season.

It will be October 17th from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds. There will be trick-or-treating for your pets, vendor merch you can check out, raffle baskets, pup cups, pet caricatures and a free costume photo opp!

If you bring a bag of dry cat food or wet pate dog food for the Humane Society, you'll be entered to win a $100 Kwik Star gift card. Again this year, it will be hosted by Yours Very Sincerely.

And of course: there's the pet costume contest! It will include categories of: Best Costume, Funniest Costume, and Scariest Costume. The Howl-o-Ween vendors will be judging so make sure you parade around your pet!

Not gonna lie, the costume contest has been challenging to judge in Howl-o-Weens past. Think your pup could hold their own? Give their Halloween costume a test run at Howl-o-Ween on October 17th!

Don't forget to celebrate spooky season this year with your beloved furchild. As the event gets closer, any updates you'll need on Howl-o-Ween will be on Humane Society of Scott County's Facebook page.

TheTakout.com has a list of FOUR chains that DON'T use real pumpkin in their PSLs. They are:

top 10 best movies about football

Football movies work because the game is a perfect pressure cooker for drama. Whether it’s a coach trying to hold a locker room together or an underdog fighting for a single play on the field, these stories usually end up being about way more than just what happens between the whistles. They’re about ego, community, and those "get up off the dirt" moments we all wish we had in real life.
