Hy-Vee Makes Massive Donation After Caitlin Clark Breaks Record
She's done it. Caitlin Clark is now the all-time leading scorer in women's college basketball. She surpassed Kelsey Plum's record Thursday night in the Hawkeye's 106-89 win over the Michigan Wolverines.
Caitlin is less than 100 points away from breaking Pete Maravich's all-time leading scoring record. But after her record-breaking shot in Thursday night's game, one of her partners announced a huge donation to Clark's foundation.
Hy-Vee Makes Huge Donation To Clark's Foundation
Last night, in the first quarter of the University of Iowa’s women’s basketball game against Michigan, Caitlin Clark became the NCAA Division I highest-scoring female basketball player in NCAA history.
On Friday, Hy-Vee announced that it is donating $35,690 to the Caitlin Clark Foundation in honor of Clark reaching 3,569 career points to break the previous record.
The Caitlin Clark Foundation’s mission is to uplift and improve the lives of youth and their communities through education, nutrition, and sport—three pillars Clark believes were foundational in her success.
Matt Nickell, vice president of sports marketing for Hy-Vee said,
“We are absolutely thrilled to see Caitlin reach this historic milestone in her career. Not only is Caitlin an incredible athlete, but she’s also an outstanding example of the fundamentals we try to live out at Hy-Vee - dedication, respect, sincerity and caring. We're honored to partner with Caitlin and look forward to seeing many more amazing accomplishments from her both on and off the court."
Earlier this year, Hy-Vee introduced an exclusive limited-time cereal with 100% of Clark’s proceeds of the cereal going to the Foundation. Caitlin’s Crunch Time is only available at select Iowa stores while supplies last.
