Iowa Mayor Poses Half-Nude On Calendar, Helps Raise Money For Charity

An Iowa mayor is drawing mixed reactions from his appearance in a brewery's calendar.

It's great to see those we elect to do things to serve the community and to be real about it. The Creston, Iowa mayor is doing exactly that by appearing as Mr. November in Hot Air Brewing's "Father Figures" 2023 calendar. Bless our civil servants.

Breaking news though, people are still bitter about anything and KCCI reports that they received almost a dozen complaints about Mayor Gabe Carroll's appearance in the calendar yet there was a spike in sales of the calendar (you'll see why in a minute).

Are you ready?

I mean, as the owner of Hot Air Brewing, Katie Davidson, told KCCI, the only thing that's naked is the chicken:

He's got underwear on, I mean the only thing naked is the chicken. I'm not really sure, but then again people like to get mad.

But my hometown mayor did not look like this.

It is for a good cause too. Davidson said that 25% of the money raised by the calendars is going into the Christmas Basket Fund, which will help families have Christmas dinners.

Mayor Carroll said in a statement to KCCI about it:

I can understand some people not getting the joke and feeling offended… that's just part of life I suppose. But in the end we've raised about $220 for the Christmas Basket Fund, and have about 55 calendars left to sell.
