Suspect Faces Multiple Charges Following Early Morning Pursuit
Authorities identified the suspect as 30-year-old Grant Saline, who was booked into the Milam County Jail on March 10. Charges include aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against a peace officer, evading arrest in a vehicle, and criminal mischief.
Ambulance Stolen After Mental Health Call
The unusual series of events began around 5 a.m. when Milam County Sheriff's deputies and Cameron Police were notified of a stolen ambulance. According to Allegiance Mobile Health, the suspect had initially called for an ambulance from a local hotel, citing a mental health issue. However, upon the vehicle's arrival, Saline reportedly seized the opportunity to steal the ambulance and fled the scene.
Chase Ends in Crash
Law enforcement quickly tracked the stolen vehicle to the 2200 block of CR203 Loop. A short off-road pursuit ensued, ending when Saline crashed the ambulance into a tree. He was taken into custody at the scene without further incident. The Texas Department of Public Safety also assisted in the pursuit and apprehension.
