Spring has officially arrived and the next holiday filled with family-fun events throughout the area is Easter. Every year, kids are invited to come to hunt for eggs filled with prizes at a park in Eastern Iowa. Kids from all over can enjoy this family-fun event and hopefully, the spring weather will be nice that day.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 8th, for the City of Davenport's Community Egg Hunt. The fun begins that morning with a chance to win a free Kids Pass to enjoy this summer.

The City of Davenport invites families from all over for another Community Egg Hunt. The event is taking place on Saturday, April 8 starting at 11:00 a.m. at Vander Veer Botanical Park (215 West Central Park Avenue).

Community Engagement Coordinator, Allie McWilliams said in the release,

“The City of Davenport is excited to kick off spring with an event everyone from the community can enjoy. We look forward to providing an opportunity to enjoy this family-friendly event with our residents in one of our beautiful parks.”

Davenport's Community Egg Hunt will be held on the open lawn located south of Gabe’s All-Inclusive Play Village. Children will try to collect as many eggs as possible to win prizes Plus, participants will have a chance to enter a raffle for a chance to win a Summer Kids Pass, valued at $50.

Davenport city officials remind those who are participating to bring their own basket or bag to collect eggs.

Age groups will be separated to collect eggs and will have different hunting times. Those age groups and times include:

  • 11:00 a.m. - 3 years & under
  • 11:15 a.m. - 4-7 years and 8-10 years

The Davenport Community Egg Hunt is best suited for kids 10 and under.
