An event that hopes to help kids learn life skills and a bit of defense is coming up in the Quad Cities.

If your kiddo would like to learn some self-defense and dip their toes in the world of judo, there is an event coming up very soon in Rock Island that they might benefit from.

Bullyproof Outreach will have a free 3-night event for both junior high and high school students. They will learn verbal judo and defense skills. The courses will be taught by internationally acclaimed Grandmaster Fueschel. The goal is to teach the kids some life skills, lessen bullying, and help them develop their own strength and confidence.

The program is designed to help your student find answers to the question: "What would I do if?"

The classes will be over the course of the next 3 Saturday nights: January 27th, February 3rd, and February 10th from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.

The classes will be at Trinity Church in Rock Island (which is at 1818 6th Avenue). There will also be free food available for those in attendance.

Again, the event is free, but if you want to register your student for the classes, it would not be a bad idea to get to Trinity Church early. The program is limited to 50 registrants and every student under 18 will need a parent permission form. You can find that parent permission form at this link.

Meanwhile, if you have any questions about the program, you can reach out to 970-319-8313.
