If you're a pet owner and are finding yourself in a tough spot when it comes to feeding your pets, and best friends, today Kings Harvest wants to help you!

From 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Kings Harvest Pet Rescue in Davenport will be handing out dog and cat food to anyone that is in need. There is no sign up, you just drive up to the parking lot, and they will hand you the food. No questions asked.

I had a chance to talk with the assistant director of Kings Harvest Pet Rescue, Rochelle Dougall, when asked where the idea came from she said,

We wanted to help others, and got some inspiration from other shelters.

This event is helping many people in the QC area so it was great hearing why they put this on.

We are always here to help in any way we can, and seeing people have to decide between food for family or pets is hard, we were lucky enough to team up with Purina to make this possible.

This is a great sign to see here in the Quad Cities, more people coming together to help one another. A line that really stuck out to me was about community.

When ever we ask the community for help they show up and come through, so this was our chance to help them."

The pet food is being donated by Purina. The animal shelter is on 2504 W Central Park Ave, Davenport, IA. You can learn more here.
