Months Long Work On Harrison Street Continues Into This Week
Road work in the Quad Cities is always interesting, on one hand, I've seen it start and finish in the blink of an eye. Other times seem to take forever. Obviously the size of the project, and many other things going into it, but it seems as though the work on Harrison will keep going strong.
A few weeks ago three lanes were closed on Harrison for some heavy work next to Vanderveer park. This week they moved up the road a bit to close two lanes.
Harrison Street has just enough traffic for this road to work to cause a bit of a traffic jam, but if you find yourself driving during nonpeak times this work's only effect on you will be when you have to move over a few lanes, besides that there shouldn't be much delay at all because of it.
Harrison Street has been seeing this pretty heavy work since April. Thankfully crews have only been working on one section at a time and then moving up once they are done with that section.
As of now, they have made some serious progress on the road, but we will still most likely be seeing a few more lanes closed here and there on Harrison as road work season continues.
If you hope to avoid any future traffic jams or construction, you can keep up to date with road closures and other traffic frustrations here, or check out the road cameras here.
Also big thankyou to all the incredible workers, and crews keeping our roads up to date and safe!
