National Chocolate Chip Day

These days never cease to amaze me.. In case you we're aware (like everyone else around you) it's National Chocolate Chip Day.

Which is oh, so appropriate for this story..

Tonight I'm going to a "dinner party" as its been deemed at my boyfriend's brother's house. So, last night, he decided he was going to make some home made chocolate chip cookies to take over for dessert.

He's actually a decent baker, unlike most men so when he said he was going to make them from scratch I didn't even bat an eye.

The first obstacle to overcome was the fact that his recipe made five dozen and he only had enough supplies to make half of that. From the way the batter tasted, he got the math right.

Then, he began scooping the dough with an ice cream scooper and they were some fairly large scoops.. But not onto a baking sheet. Oh no, onto a pizza stone..

I had my reservations about the size of the scoops and the use of the pizza stone, but figured I'd let him do his thing if its worked for him in the past. Only, to my surprise, he had never made home made chocolate chip cookies before. And I found this out when the cookies came out of the over looking like this..

The boyfriend gets an "A" for effort in the baking department. On the bright side, he might be a competitive contender for a position at Cookies By Design because some people do want a cookie thats bigger than their head..

To be fair, he is a pro at making banana bread muffins. So I will give credit where credit is due.
