National Strawberry Shortcake Day doesn't actually arrive until June 14 this year, but let's be real, is there a bad time for cake? Ever? No, no there is not.

I'm a firm believer that fun shapes make every food better. Shapes mac n' cheese, Reese's eggs (or hearts, or Christmas trees), animal shaped peeps, they're all better than their plain shaped counterparts. But size is also a factor.

With desserts especially, bigger is almost always better. So North Scott Foods is clearly onto something with their plan. On Saturday, April 20th, they are going to build a 60-ft strawberry shortcake. They'll be starting at 10 a.m., and the public is more than welcome to come in and watch how it comes together.

This isn't their first foray into massive desserts. According to North Scott Foods' Facebook, this is their second year creating something like this, however this years shortcake will be 50% bigger.
