Power has been knocked out over much of Central Iowa. According to Poweroutage.us, over 400,000 customers are without power as of 1:53 PM.

The National Weather Service in Des Moines says:

Please stay home and continue to shelter to avoid downed power lines and possible live wires. Significant tree and some structural damage reported over much of the region.

 

Major Damage has been reported in Marshalltown with a report of a 99 mph wind gust as the storm rolled through the area.
