To celebrate the 2018 Hanukkah season, there will be several events in the QCA including a lighted car Menorah parade.

The parade begins at 4 p.m., with the lighting at 5:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 9, which is the eighth and final night of Hanukkah. The parade departs from 18th Street and 53rd Avenue in Bettendorf, and travels to Quad-City Bank & Trust on Middle Road ending in a grand outdoor Menorah lighting and celebration.

The parade route will travel via the main thoroughfares of the Quad Cities,  including main streets in Davenport, Bettendorf, Moline and Rock Island in a Hanukkah celebration promoting holiday awareness.

The parade will end at 2118 Middle Road, Bettendorf, for a celebration including a giant Menorah lighting with greetings from Bettendorf Mayor Bob Gallagher.

The event will include music, Chanukah refreshments and door prizes, as well as other surprises.

Chabad Lubavitch of the Quad-Cities offers Jewish education, outreach and social service programming for families and individuals of all ages, backgrounds and affiliations according to the QC Times.

It will host several events in addition to the parade during the week of Hanukkah:

Dec. 4: Olive press demonstration and Menorah lighting and bubble show at NorthPark Mall

Dec. 6: Bowl’n Play Hanukkah party at High5 in the TBK Bank Sports Complex
