Quad Cities Area Museums Offering Free Days for Military and More
Taking the whole family to a museum is always fun, but it can get a little bit pricey, especially if you have several children. Luckily there are plenty of museums within driving distance that are offering free and discounted admissions days this summer.
If you're interested in taking a little road trip, Chicago has many free days for the Adler Planetarium, Field Museum, Brookfield Zoo, Chicago Children's Museum, Botanical Gardens and more. Check out Timeout Chicago's website for more info.
If you want to stay a little bit closer to home, some of our the museums in the QCA and nearby cities are also offering discounts. Also, don't forget libraries in the QCA often have free passes you can check out for the Putnam, German Heritage Museum and the Figge.
- As part of the Blue Star Museum program, all active duty military personnel and up to five family members receive free general Admission, now through Labor Day.
- Independence Day: Veterans receive free general Admission.
- Father's Day (June 19): Fathers receive free general admission with paid child.
- Grandparent's Day (September 11): All grandparents receive General Admission with paid child.
- Veteran's Day (September 7): Veterans receive free general admission.
- Father's Day: Free admission for fathers.

- Always free for children under age 4.
- Free admission after 5 PM on Thursdays.
