Women musicians in the Quad Cities unite for an unforgettable show this Friday.

For many women musicians, they've experienced the frustration of not being taken as seriously, not being booked as often and not experiencing the compliments on their skills and music more than there are comments on their looks.

I can relate to this, as women, we all seem to have experienced it at one point in time or another. I completely appreciate how this group of women have decided to take proactive action so they can live their dreams.

QCTimes.com did a great job covering this story and it made me feel good that this is happening in the Quad Cities for women musicians, ranging in age from teens to 60+ years old.

The group is called ILLOWA Women in Blues Association and they will be performing at Kavanaugh's Hilltop in Rock Island this Friday from 6-11 p.m.
