Bring the kiddos and the entire family down to Schwiebert Riverfront Park in Rock Island tonight for Fright Night in the Park! The event is happening tonight from 5 p.m to 7 p.m. Fright Night in the Park is put on by Goodwill of the Heartland and Rock Island Parks and Recreation Department.

Tonight, kids and families will be able to do some early trick-or-treating in Schwiebert Park while local area businesses hand out candy. Goodie bags will be handed out, live music and entertainment will be on hand, and much more.

Tonight's Fright Night in the Park at Schwiebert Park is free. Originally, Fright Night in the Park was scheduled for Thursday, October 28, 2021. Due to pending weather on Thursday, officials from the Rock Island Parks and Recreation Department and Goodwill of the Heartland rescheduled the event for tonight, Wednesday, October 27.

Thursday's forecast, according to the National Weather Service of the Quad Cities is:

  • Rain, mainly after 10 am. High near 51. Northeast wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. The chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

  • Rain. Low around 49. North wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. The chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
