Theo’s Java Club Closes Today
Today is the day. Theo's Java Club in Rock Island will officially close its doors. After 27 years of selling coffee, the Rock Island coffee shop will close up tonight at 8 p.m.
Theo's Java Club in Rock Island has been a coffee staple in downtown Rock Island for 27 years. Theo Gervas announced earlier this year he was closing his doors and selling the building and business. After months of trying to find a buyer, Gervas hasn't found a buyer and is closing his doors.
Gervas announced on social media last week that Wednesday, October 8, 2021 (today) would be the final day the coffee shop would be open. Theo's Java Club will end its 27 years run tonight at 8 p.m.
Back in July, we told you that Theo's Java Club Cafe, a coffee staple in downtown Rock Island announced they were up for sale. Since 1993, people of the Quad Cities have come to Theo's Java Club for delicious coffee and a wonderful atmosphere thanks to Theo Gervas. But in the near future, Theo will no longer be the owner of the building.
In an announcement on social media back in July, Gervas broke the sad news that he is looking for a buyer of Theo's Java Club Cafe. In the post, Gervas said,
"I want to thank all of you for helping me keep this dream alive for 27 years. My appreciation for you is beyond measure. It has been my pleasure to serve you!"
Even after an attempt of an employee trying to raise money to purchase Theo's Java Club, the Rock Island coffee still has not found a buyer and will close its doors tonight, Wednesday, October 8th at 8 p.m.
Theo is still selling the business and building and he of course would like help finding a buyer. Those interested in purchasing the building and business are encouraged to message him on Facebook or Instagram.
Good luck to Theo and the staff and thank you for serving coffee to the Quad Cities for 27 years!
