This is What Happens to All Your Missing Socks

Do I even need to explain the scenario? If there's anything in life that connects us all it's the fact that we've all lost AT LEAST one sock while doing our laundry.

I think I lose one every single time I do a load of laundry. It's just an unwritten rule of life, if you do laundry, you will end up with one lost sock and there's no good explanation for where it went. So what's the cause of this? You can thank overloading your machine for all those mate-less socks.

A repair shop expert explains ...

When I see socks outside the dryer drum, that’s usually the result of overloading, and it’s forcing socks into areas where they’re not supposed to be. They tend to wind up in the lint filter area, between the dryer’s drum and cabinet, or in the exhaust duct at the back of the dryer.

So it's basically overloading and possible worn down parts of your dryer that are letting the socks slip through. Well, I hate to be the person to tell you this, but there's not really anything you can do to fix it. You can do smaller loads, and you can have an expert come out and empty your dryer. It'll be like a mini pay day and a sock reunion.

I guess it's just an unavoidable part of life, like taxes or something.
