A couple weeks ago I found out that my roommate has an indoor flameless grill that is perfect for apartment living. She taught me how to use it and ever since, I've become a grill master.

Master may not be the beeeest description, however I have grilled every week since. For four weeks in a row, I have taken to the grill to whip up chicken, veggies, steaks, and this week's experiment - burgers.

Side note: I had never grilled before four weeks ago.

For the first couple of weeks, the chicken was on point. I could get the grill marks on it and everything. My asparagus and zucchini I mastered the second time around after finding out that if you leave it on for too long it doesn't get charred, but soggy - whoops!

The steaks were pretty delicious also. I don't mean to brag but they might have only been a tier below Ruth Chris'. THAT good.

This week as I was going through my Pinterest board, I saw a recipe for bun-less burgers (essentially a burger wrap with the wrap being lettuce). I went to HyVee on Kimberly, got everything I needed - the ground beef, chipotle mayo, tomatoes, onions, jalapeños, etc... and got to cooking.

When I got home, I seasoned the ground beef with some salt, pepper, garlic powder, and some of The Barrel House's house seasoning. Then came the patty making. One, two, three, four, five, SIX... my god I have a lot of ground beef.

Three rounds on the grill later, I had about 12 burgers. 12! Turns out my portioning was a liiiittle off. I guess the next time I decide to have a cookout for myself, I won't buy 2 lbs. of beef like a family of five.

Lesson learned.
