University of Iowa Is a Testing Site for COVID-19 Vaccine

Here's one more reason to love the University of Iowa.

The university was chosen one of the 120 sites in the world to begin testing for the Pfizer vaccine for COVID-19.

According to reports the testing began Thursday and the university plans to test 250 participants in a variety of age groups. Here's the overview from the University of Iowa Healthcare website:

The study will evaluate the safety, tolerability, immunogenicity, and efficacy of 3 different SARS-CoV-2 RNA vaccine candidates against COVID-19:

- As a 2-dose or single-dose schedule

- At up to 3 different dose levels

- In 3 age groups (18 to 55 years of age, 65 to 85 years of age, and 18 to 85 years of age
