UPDATE: Two Eastern Iowa Teenage Girls Missing Have Been Found
UPDATE: Both Elizabeth Rodgers and Rylea Ostrander have been found and are safe. Officials thank the public for the assistance.
ORIGINAL: Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding two eastern Iowa teenage girls who have been missing since Thursday afternoon.
The Jones County and Clinton County Sheriff's Departments, along with the Midland Community School District, are asking for the public's help in finding two missing teenage girls who went missing Thursday afternoon.
According to a social media post from the Midland Community School District, Elizabeth Rodgers and Rylea Ostrander went missing in Lost Nation, IA Thursday afternoon. The girls rode the bus to Lost Nation, and walked to Rylea's house.
At about 4:00 p.m., the girls walked to Rustic Park and did not return from the park. Officials from the Midland school district say that a school backpack has been located at the park.
The Clinton County Sheriff's Department put out a social media post describing both girls to help the search:
- Elizabeth Rodgers
- 14 years old
- Last seen wearing a black and camoflage hoodie and tight blue or black jeans
- White female
- Approximately 5'5", 150 lbs
- Blond hair with red tint and blue eyes
- Rylea Ostrander
- 13 years old
- Last seen wearing a gray jacket and blue pants
- White female
- Approximately 5'5", 120 lbs,
- Short blond hair and hazel eyes
According to KCRG, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation said it is looking for a silver 2004 Silverado 2500 with the license plate “666YPI.”
Authorities are asking that if you know the whereabouts of the girls or know anything, please contact either the Clinton or Jones County Sheriff's Departments.
