Make Fejervary Park Pretty and Celebrate Earth Day with Davenport Parks & Rec
Friday, April 22nd is Earth Day and Davenport Parks & Rec has a great opportunity for you to get outdoors this weekend.
On Saturday April 23rd, they will have their Earth Day Extravaganza at Fejervary Learning Center from 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.
This is a perfect event for anyone with a green thumb or those who want to spend a bit of their weekend outside. After all, we have to get the park ready for the summer days we plan to spend there.
At the event on Saturday, there will be light refreshments, a guided spring cleanup (so raking, weeding, getting rid of small sticks, etc.), and also planting around Fejervary Learning Center. If you go, you'll need to wear long sleeves, closed-toed shoes, and long pants. Gloves and tools will be provided.
If you like some gardening activities more than others, you're in luck. You will get to choose what activity you would like to do to help beautify the park after a brief tour of the Fejervary Learning Center.
You don't have to pre-register for the Earth Day Extravaganza and it's free. It's open to all ages, but any kids who participate have to be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers will get a small thank you gift from Davenport Parks & Rec too.
If the event is canceled because of nasty weather, Davenport Parks & Rec says that notice will be made by 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. They'll post that update on the group's Facebook and Instagram pages.
