The St. Patrick's Day Grand Parade XXXV.2 is still a go for this Saturday, August 28. Ahead of Saturday's festivities, the Davenport Police Department has released a map of road closures so people who aren't wanting to dress up in green can avoid traffic and plan ahead. Road closures for the parade and celebrations will begin Saturday morning.

On Thursday, the Davenport Police Department posted on social media a map showing road closures ahead of the Quad Cities St. Patrick's Day Grand Parade XXXV.2. The Grand Parade will start in Rock Island at 11:30 a.m. at 23rd St and 4th Ave Saturday morning, cross the Talbot/Centennial Bridge, and end at the River Center on 3rd St in downtown Davenport.

From 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, the Centennial Bridge/Gaines St to W 3rd St will be closed. W 3rd St will also be closed from Gaines St to Pershing Ave at the same time.

The 300 block of W 3rd St will be closed from 11:30 a.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday morning.

While the parade is still a go, a reminder that the annual St. Patrick's Day race has been canceled for this year.

Last week we told you that the St. Patrick's Day race was canceled. In a social media post on Tuesday, officials from the CASI (The Center for Active Seniors) St. Patrick's Race announced that next Saturday's race will not happen.

After consulting with the county health department, sponsors, and Board, CASI officials said that they don't feel they are able to provide the high-quality race experience that runners have come to expect.

The 40th St. Patrick's Day Race will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022.
