Eastern Iowa Town Gets Almost 12 Inches Of Snow
You're reading that headline and thinking to yourself, "No we didn't. This is fake news." Maybe you and your city/town in Eastern Iowa didn't get almost a foot of snow but there is one that did. At least that's what they are reporting.
Wednesday's storm brought our biggest snowstorm of the season so far, but we've seen bigger and worse storms. What we had on Wednesday isn't something to write home about, unless you live in this small town that reported almost 12 inches of snow.
We do have more on the way but that's a story I'll link to shortly. Let's look at how many inches of snow our area has.

One Iowa Town Gets Almost 12 Inches Of Snow
Wednesday brought us our biggest snowstorm of the season but it wasn't big by any means.
The long-duration snowstorm began in the early hours of Wednesday and finished just a little bit after Thursday began. Roads were partially or completely covered as snow plow crews across Iowa and Illinois did their best to keep up with the snowfall.
In total, the Quad Cities metro saw 4 inches of snow. That's at the Davenport Airport where the National Weather Service of the Quad Cities is. To be more precise, the Quad Cities metro got 4.5 inches of snow.
But one town in Eastern Iowa reported getting almost 1 foot of snow from this storm. The town of Lowden, IA reported 11.7 inches of snow!
If you're thinking to yourself, "The snow measurer in Lowden sure had a lot of beers and can't read a ruler," you might not be the only one. But, if you see the other snowfall reports across the region that was hit by the snowstorm, this measurement is on par.
Get ready because more snow is on the way Friday night and into Saturday followed by very cold temps.
