Fun Things To Do With The Littles On New Year’s Weekend In Iowa
For many local kids, it's the last weekend of winter break and there are plenty of happenings to keep them entertained.
Sometimes it can be hard to come up with fun, kid-friendly New Year's Eve celebrations and you might have run out of ways to keep them occupied when winter break started weeks ago. Allow this to be a suggestion guide for you this weekend. Here are some festive, fun things you can do with the kids this weekend.
Frozen Landing- Bettendorf
I have the coordination of a newborn giraffe so I cannot ice skate to save my life. But it's still a fun activity to try and the weekend will be great weather for it! Admission is $2, skate rental is $3. You can keep up with the latest from the ice rink here.
Winter Nights Winter Lights- Quad City Botanical Center, Rock Island
If you and/or the kids just aren't ready to take down the pretty Christmas lights yet, you might head out to Winter Nights Winter Lights at the Quad City Botanical Center. It's a stroll through a beautifully lit garden but also there's an activity room for the kids to make a craft, hot cocoa, and even a scavenger hunt. Admission is $10 for adults, $6 for kids 2-15, and kids 2 and under get in free. You can get more details about the event on their website.
Noon Year's Eve Party- Bettendorf
At the Bettendorf Family Museum this weekend, kids can celebrate Noon Year's Eve. It kicks off at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and goes until the "New Year" countdown ends at noon. Honestly as early as I like to go to bed, this is a celebration I could get behind.
