WQAD News 8 needs your help finding the man who smashed one of their cameras in Rock Island.

WQAD News 8 reported on Monday that police in Rock Island are looking for a man who assaulted one of their photographers in a parking lot. The man smashed his camera on the ground and police need your help identifying the man.

According to WQAD, the incident took place at 38th Street and 18th Avenue around 5 p.m. Friday, May 1st. The News 8 photographer, who has not been named, was working on a story and getting footage on local businesses in the area. That's when the man in the video below approached him in a parking lot. The man was expressing anger that he may have been filmed while driving by.

The man decided to first take the photographer's hat, and then took his camera (which costs a lot of money) and smashed it on the ground multiple times. The police were then called and a report was been filed.

If you have any information on the man, contact the Rock Island Police Department at (309) 732-2677.

The News 8 photographer was uninjured in the assault.
