The Iowa Caucuses are less than a week away and I couldn't be more excited! This is my first time living in Iowa where I'll be able to experience the excitement surrounding the event.

There's so much to think about - what I'm going to wear, who I'm going to caucus for, where do I go? etc...

I'm here to help you figure that all out. So sit back, and relax.

First and foremost, I love a good themed party, so my suggestion would be wear blue if you're going to caucus for a Democrat and red for those of you supporting the Republicans. But I'm sure you'll look just absolutely lovely with whatever you decide.

Now, who to caucus for... That's a tough one. And totally up to nobody but YOU! Do some research on the candidates before you show up to your precinct polling place.

On that note - know where you need to go! There's 134 places for you to caucus in Scott Co. ALONE! And to make it even more difficult on you, you don't necessarily go to the same polling place to caucus as you do to vote.

  1. You can find your correct Iowa polling/precinct by visiting the Iowa Secretary of State website and filling in your zip code, street name and number.
  2. From there, they will give you your correct precinct name (mine is DAVENPORT CITY 33 - WOOT WOOT!).
  3. Then you need to choose whether you'd like to attend a Democratic Party Caucus or a Republican Party Caucus.
  4. Finally, from the LONG list of caucus locations, find your precinct on the list and show up there this Monday, February 1st to caucus your booty off. (TIP: The lists are VERY long, so here's a shortcut so you're not searching forever. Hit COMMAND and "F" on your computer keyboard, type in your correct precinct name, then hit ENTER. It'll save you time, I promise).

I have heard that these things fill up, so many of the sites recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before the beginning of the Caucus (they usually start at 7pm SHARP) and if you arrive late, Kevin found that you will be S.O.L.

Best of luck Caucus-goers!
