It's time to take a second to sift through the apps on your phone.

Experts are warning about 17 apps that are available for iPhones and Androids that are dangerous. According to MSN, they are the latest examples of malware getting into phones and none of us want that.

If your phone is infected, you might notice things like: slower response time, an alert about a virus, an anti-virus software you don't use, less storage space, or your phone just not working at all.

Be Super Careful With The Money Apps

Of course, you have to be careful what you give out on social media but those apps aren't the problem in this case. Not surprisingly, most of these apps that have been linked to malware deal with money, so here are the apps that experts are urging you to get rid off ASAP.

Keeping Your Phone Safe

I've never heard of most of those apps, but it's a great reminder to check the security on our phones anyway. A lot of us keep a lot of sensitive stuff on our phones because we live on our phones. There are some secure password apps you can use, a VPN connection that's secure, or use a safer browser.

Keep your smartphone updated and if you want additional peace of mind, install a mobile security app like Norton or Bitdefender.

Stay safe out there, scrollers.
