Iowa Hospital System Buys 40 Acres Of Land In Growing Area

It's the part of the QCA that's growing.

UnityPoint Health-Trinity has announced that they bought 40 acres of land in northeast Bettendorf.

UnityPoint Health – Trinity has purchased approximately 40 acres of land in the rapidly growing area of northeast Bettendorf.
Development and service planning is underway as we evaluate the needs of the growing community to ensure the best use of health care resources in alignment with the needs and input of the local community.
"Today’s announcement is not just a milestone; it’s a game-changer. This acquisition opens doors to new opportunities and positions us to respond to market demands and emerging trends,” says Quad Cities Market President Shawn Morrow.

It didn't say where exactly this new site is going to be or what exactly it's going to be but if I had to take a gander, it will probably be out by TBK. That's where most things seem to be going these days.

UnityPoint Health- Trinity did open the first and only full-service hospital in Bettendorf over 20 years ago, as Trinity Regional Health System Board President Dana Wilkinson told WQAD:

This acquisition aligns with our commitment to support the Bettendorf community, which dates back more than 20 years to when UnityPoint Health – Trinity opened Bettendorf’s first and only full-service hospital

UnityPoint does have an express clinic at the BettPlex on Competition Drive already. As far as specialty care in that area goes, MercyOne Genesis has a Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine office inside the TBK Bank Sports Complex. ORA Orthopedics is putting in a $50 million orthopedic clinic adjacent to the BettPlex, relocating it's 53rd Avenue location.

Back in the fall, Genesis Health Systems asked the city of Bettendorf to rezone land (51 acres specifically) just south of the TBK Complex to allow for a hospital to be built.

As for UnityPoint's latest land acquisition, there's no word yet on what exactly it will be or even it's exact address but they say they'll update you on their website and Facebook.
