Iowa’s Fastest Speeding Ticket Record Might Have Just Been Broken
Talk about a case of the zoomies.
Sometimes when we're driving, we can get a lead foot and not even realize it for awhile. But one person really got clocked (literally) with it.
The record for Iowa's fastest speeding ticket is still upheld by James Foldenauer, who was going 188 mph on his motorcycle in a construction zone in 2009. But a weekend incident might set the record for a car's fastest speeding ticket in Iowa.

In 2022, a teen got clocked at going 122 mph near Ottumwa. Over the weekend, a person (who really didn't need to get in trouble) broke that.
Near Manchester (the interchange of US Highway 20 and Highway 13), a person was clocked in at 126 mph in their Mustang without insurance and after having their license revoked for OWI.
If you already had some issues with the law where driving is concerned, maybe don't risk it?
There's no word on what charges/fines the driver will face but it probably won't be good. If you're caught speeding 31+mph over the speed limit, it's a $500 fine (if it's 20mph over the limit, it's $100 + $5 for every mph over the limit). Driving on a revoked license is a misdemeanor with a $1,000 fine and up to a year in jail. Driving without insurance is a $250 fine and possible vehicle impoundment.
As we're in the holiday season and getting ready to road trip for Christmas, don't be this person. Don't drive this fast and if you see someone driving erratically, back off and get away from them.
