I can sum up how I felt about Last Christmas – the new film starring Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding, written by Emma Thompson and her husband – in one tweet.

Now, I won't say what the twist is specifically, but knowing it's based on the music of George Michael, it's easy to figure out. I had a hunch even before I went into the theater, and there are signs early on in the film to clue you in.

But again, it doesn't even matter. What I loved most about Last Christmas was that it wasn't your typical love story. It's definitely billed as one, and Emilia Clarke has undeniable chemistry with Henry Golding. They're so fun to watch on screen together.

For me though, Last Christmas was more about falling back in love with yourself and the world around you. Admittedly, it's a bit existential for a Christmas movie. But then again, It's A Wonderful Life and A Christmas Carol are way darker, and they're classics, so...

On the whole, I would say Last Christmas is absolutely worth a trip to the theater. It'll hit you in your feels, but in a necessary way.
