Forbes has released statistics for America's top billionaires of 2025 and Axios has narrowed down the top 10 in Illinois. In signature Illinois style, there are 13 Pritzkers on the list of billionaires (including Governor Pritzker, though he's not in the top 10).

Some of the Illinoisans on the list garner parts of their net worth from other ventures. For example, Shahid Khan, who owns the Illinois-based automotive company Flex-N-Gate, also owns the Jacksonville Jaguars. Similarly, Joe Mansueto is the Executive Chairman of Morningstar (which is headquartered in Chicago) and he also owns Major League Soccer club Chicago Fire FC and a Swiss Super League team, FC Lugano.

Net worths of Illinois billionaires in the top 10 range from $6 billion to $37.9 billion. The top Illinois billionaire is (from the company based in my homestate Arkansas, you're welcome) Lukas Walton from Walmart.

As far as Forbes' list overall goes, the wealthiest person in the world is Elon Musk, clocking in at $342 billion according to the latest stats.

For the Illinois billionaires, you'll for sure recognize several of these companies, even if you're not familiar with the faces behind them. Understandably, several of them are private people.
