Since moving here, I've heard a lot of folks talk about how dangerous and crime-ridden Davenport has become. Like every city, there are certain areas of it that aren't the safest places to hang out.

Neighborhood Scout ranked Davenport neighborhoods based on things like price and crime rate. If you look at the map, it seems the closer that you get to the river, the worse the neighborhoods get.

Davenport was recently ranked as the 3rd most dangerous city in Iowa and it's had its share of incidents lately. So here are a few of the places that are considered the worst neighborhoods in Davenport according to crime stats from Neighborhood Scout. It looks at violent crimes per 1,000 residents. Those include things like rape, murder, robbery, and assault.

Central Davenport West

I haven't spent much time in this area other than driving through it but it is on the outskirts of what Neighborhood Scout ranks as dangerous.

Central Davenport

Scooting over a bit, Central Davenport is also ranked as one of the most dangerous areas of the city.

Central Davenport East/Downtown Davenport

Again, the closer you move toward the river, the more dangerous the area.

Downtown Davenport

This wide swath of the far side of downtown Davenport towards Modern Woodman Park.

Credit Island

This area that runs from W. 6th St and includes Rockingham Rd. and more of W. River Drive also adds on Credit Island Park.

West End South

And rounding out the list we have West End South. It ropes in Rockingham Rd. to S. Bittner, John Fell Drive, and West River Drive.

It's important to note that the map has other neighborhoods that aren't the safest in Davenport but none are listed as being as dangerous as these. Stay safe out there, QC.
