A Quad Cities staple is now up for sale.

According to our friends at KWQC, Ross' Restaurant in Bettendorf will be up for sale because it's owners, are retiring after serving the QC for 50 years.

Ron Freidhof told KWQC:

After 50 incredible and memorable years in the restaurant business, my wife and I are ready to travel, enjoy our retirement and more time with our grandchildren

A release from the family said that the property at 2297 Falcon Avenue will be listed for sale with Alex Kelly, NAI Ruhl Commercial Company.

Celebrities have visited Ross' over the years, including Jimi Hendrix, Chuck Berry, Johnny Cash, Bette Midler, Bill Murray, Keith Urban, Will Ferrell, former President Barack Obama in 2011 and President Joe Biden in 2020.

The restaurant is 85-years-old and was founded by Cynthia's dad, Harold Ross. They moved to the Falcon Avenue location from downtown in 2015.

Cynthia Ross-Freidhof has nothing but good things to say about her years running Ross':

It has been a tremendous privilege to serve the greater Quad City Community for most of our lives, I would like to express our sincere gratitude and thank all of our customers for their support throughout the years. From serving hungry customers during their late-night stops, to seeing the same families weekly for breakfast after church on Sundays, we truly have had the best customers in the world, they are like our extended family and we will miss them all dearly.

Ross' was known for their "Magic Mountain", which was grilled Texas toast covered with loose ground beef and piled high with either hash browns or fries and cheese sauce.
