The Quad Cities Chamber has a task for certain Quad Citians.

The Chamber wants to hear from QC 'Boomerangers'. It's what you probably think it is: someone who grew up in the QC, but moved away for an extended amount of time, then later returned to the QC and now lives here. They 'boomeranged' back here.

Jennifer Verscha, Director, Marketing for the Quad Cities Chamber, told KWQC:

The QC is a great place to raise a family, where living is affordable, there are so many exciting things to do and it’s easy to get where you want to go- all right here in the heart of the Midwest. We love hearing unique stories that individuals and families have shared with us about moving back to the Quad Cities to re-establish their roots. Their boomeranging back to the QC is an important aspect of attracting talent to our region to help fill the workforce pipeline.

It's not a bad thing to 'boomerang'. I 'boomeranged' back to my hometown in Arkansas before I moved to the QC and really learned a lot in that time I was back. It got me ready for my move to Davenport. Except for the aspect of dealing with snow.

Share Your QC Boomerang Story

To share your QC Boomerang story with the Chamber, follow these steps:

  • Use #BoomerangQC on any social media platform
  • Include a picture with your post
  • Say why you decided to move back to the QC
  • Make sure the post is set to 'public'

Each week in February, the Chamber will review the public posts on social media that use the hashtag and will pick ones to share. They will also select winners for a handcrafted QC wooden boomerang.
