This Bettendorf Student Helped Save Her Classmate On The Bus
Not everyone can react quickly in an emergency situation. But Francine Pace, a junior at Bettendorf High School (who happens to have autism) was ready when she had to be.
She and her classmates were on the way to school when another student started having a seizure. According to KWQC, Pace used her sweatshirt as a cushion for her classmate's head, used a paper towel to wipe fluid from his mouth, called 911 and kept the other students on the bus back.
As a former lifeguard, I can attest that it usually takes at least three people to make all that happen in an emergency situation. Francine is just incredible! To top it off, the story has a happy ending; the paramedics arrived and took over from there, and the student was okay!
