Community theater in the QC, and many other parts of Iowa and Illinois, is incredibly strong. This is thanks to the great local actors and directors. Sadly COVID had a direct effect on local theater leading to plays and productions to be put on hold indefinitely.

This has lead to countless theaters looking to things like 'ZOOM' to put on live virtual plays and readings for the community.

I was lucky enough to be apart of one of these events on Sunday January 17th. The One-off Theatrical Productions has an event called "Scenes on Sundays" I and other QC actors had a great time doing a cold read of the play is 'Farragut North' by Beau Willimon.

This play is a great take on modern day politics, and gives the audience a look at all the scheming and planning that happens behind closed doors with campaign managers and others.

This was also a great reminder for me on how much I missed doing plays. It was great doing a read through for a group of people with such talented local artists. While reading on ZOOM is nothing like performing on stage, The One-off provided a truly inspiring opportunity with their "Scenes on Sunday." It shows that no matter what art can still be done in the QC.

One-off Theatrical Productions is a new theatrical production company based in the Quad Cities, USA. They will produce shows whenever and wherever we can. More information can be found here.
