Flooding May Be Done By Memorial Day Weekend
The end is near! The end is near!
Wait, I should clarify; I mean the end of the flooding in the Quad Cities. Don't panic.
According to the weather experts over at WQAD, "A drier weather pattern is in store for the Middle Mississippi River Valley over the next week to ten days. That means a continual recession in floodwater can be expected and the clean up can continue."
By their estimates, the flooding could be totally finished by Memorial Day Weekend, which means we'll be able to enjoy a nice, fun long weekend with family!
There is the distinct possibility of more rain, but by the time it hits, the river will have receded enough to be only in minor flood stage. It's also possible that it gets higher again in the summer months, but thankfully, it probably won't get as bad as it did these last few weeks.
