Get In The Spooky Spirit With Your Pets At Eastern Iowa Humane Society’s ‘Howl-o-Ween’
Win money, help a good local cause, all while wearing a jack-o-lantern.
Time to figure out what you and your pet are going to be this Halloween season. The Humane Society of Scott County is hosting 'Howl-o-Ween In The Park' on October 4th 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. at Centennial Dog Park (315 S. Marquette).
Besides meeting other pet owners and precious pets, you can get professional photos, paw painting, treat making, toy crafts making, food (for both you and your pet), drinks, and you can enjoy freebies and coupons from local businesses.
There will be vendors, activities, and a Doggie Costume Contest that could win you a $150 gift card! So the stakes are high to get your creativity going here.
Honestly, it's also a great early test-run for your pet's 2025 Halloween costume. Will they like it? Will they squirm out of it and chew on the bee antennas? The 2nd place pup parent will get a $100 gift card and 3rd place will get a $50 gift card. Plus memorable bragging rights.
Because sweet shelter pups and cats are always my undoing, Yours Very Truly will be emceeing Howl-o-Ween.
The costume contest is at 1:00 p.m. but you'll be able to enjoy the festivities from noon to 2. There will be informational booths and animal rescue organizations. Howl-o-Ween is a great place to stop by if you're thinking about adopting an animal.
Remember to bring a leash and use your best judgment if your dog is really aggressive. We'll see you and your festive four-legged friend on October 4th!
