Iowa’s Caitlin Clark Literally Stuck In Hawkeye History
I was thinking the headline mentioning how Caitlin Clark is cemented in Hawkeye history will be perfect when they build a statue of her in Iowa City.
It's old news that Caitlin has surpassed Kelsey Plum's NCAA all-time leading scoring record for women's basketball in Iowa's win over Michigan at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Feb. 15th. That deep 3-pointer that set the record has been literally stuck in history in the exact spot where she broke the record.
Clark Is Stuck In Hawkeye History
Besides being the NCAA all-time leading scorer in women's basketball, Caitlin Clark holds 12 records for Iowa women's basketball. But the record, the all-time leading scorer, is stuck in history in the exact spot where it was broken.
Just a little over two minutes into the game against Michigan on Feb. 15th, Caitlin Clark pulled up just below, but in line, with the beak of the Tigerhawk logo to drain a 3-pointer to break the record.
Caitlin's shot was officially marked on the court of Carver-Hawkeye Arena before Sunday's game against Illinois.
Iowa went on to win against Illinois, 101-89. Caitlin scored 24 points in that game.

Since the 106-89 victory over the Wolverines when Caitlin broke the record, she has scored enough points to be at 3,617 points with two games left in the regular season. She is close to breaking a record that hasn't been broken in 54 years.
The Last Record To Break
Caitlin needs an average of 25.5 points in the final two games to become the all-time leading scorer in college basketball (men's and women's) history.
Caitlin is just 51 points away from breaking "Pistol" Pete Maravich's record of 3,667 points. While Pete set that record in just 3 years without a 3-point line, breaking that record in 4 years with a higher points-per-game (ppg) average, Clark rightfully can break and own this record without question.
