"WALK! No running!"

The words every kid at a pool/waterpark/playzone hates to hear, but its inevitable. Your mom reminded you before you got there, but the excitement of the ball pen, water slides and your friends distracted you.

But wait! There's always a happy medium: The Race Walk.

Whether you've intended to do it or not, everyone has "race walked" probably once in their life. Either being that kid at the pool or trying to beat your sibling to the car without pissing your mom off to grab shotgun, we've all swiveled our hips and have done our best to walk as fast as our little feet will carry us.

For some, this is a sport that could carry them not only to the Olympics, but to the gold.

According to WQAD, St. Ambrose students sophomore's Anthony Peters and Jenny Lopez (not J. Lo) qualified for the race walk Olympic trials in June. Peters finished his race walk 20k in 1 hour and 33 minutes in St. Louis, MO.

The two will head to the Olympic trials on June 30th to see if they'll get the opportunity to compete in Rio.
